Response to the Riders Leg – Richard Davison
Having looked at the Rider's Position in the first of our short lessons, Richard Davison now shows how to develop your horse’s response to the rider’s leg. Impulsion means energy and is a state of mind for the horse. Richard, together with his wife, Gillian, explains and demonstrates exercises to help the rider to deliver and the horse to accept and respond to minimal leg aids. They also demonstrate what to do if your horse has become numb to the leg through corrective leg aids and the legs away exercise. Through systematic training the horse learns to respond to sensitive leg aids.
