POLO – Improving Your Game is designed to help all aspiring polo players learn the basics of the game and how to apply them on the field of play.  The programme is split into 4 main chapters, Introduction, Stickwork, Riding For Polo and The Game, and the DVD navigation enables viewers to go directly to the required topic. 

After a helpful overview of the game, the rider’s equipment, the pony and its tack, the programme moves on to look at stickwork and the role of the wooden horse, transferring theories into practice on a pony and identifying common faults.  Riding for polo is then demonstrated by Claire and she deals with warming up, the half seat and control of direction and speed.  Finally we learn about the game and the most important aspect, the right of way.  Attacking play, playing out of defence, counting heads and taking a penalty are all explained and demonstrated and common fouls and faults are pointed out.
